EmmanuelSGF is a Christian church in the Reformed, Protestant, and Baptist traditions. Our pastors view the 2nd London Baptist Confession of Faith (1689) as a good representation of the major teachings of the Bible and teach consistently in line with this historic confession.
We believe that Bible alone is the only sufficient, certain, and infallible rule for doctrine and practice, yet the use of this historic confession to describe the teaching of the church (Heb. 13:7) is helpful, and we find it to be an assistance in controversy, a confirmation in faith, and a means of edification in righteousness. Subscription to the confession is not a requirement for membership.

Why We Need Confession – Carl Trueman – This is an excellent article on the benefit of confessions and their proper use.
Philadelphia Confession (1742) – This American confession is identical to the 1689 with the exception of two additional sections (23) On Singing Praise (which is not considered an ordinance at EmmanuelSGF) and (31) On the Laying on of Hands (which is not a practice followed at EmmanuelSGF as part of baptism).
